 Image prepreation involves designing and creating the content that is to be printed on the filim. The designing is done based on subtractive color system (CMYK). Image are created using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw and Gimp.

 There are three processess used for making gravure cylinders.The first is for conventional gravure using chemical ething that produces cells of the same size of area with varying depths.The second of Electromechanically engraved cylinders and the third method is direct digital engraving.

                  |  | CMYK is a subtractive 
                    color model used in the printing process, because it describes what kind of 
                    pigments need to be applied so the light reflected from them produces  a given 
                    color. One starts  with a white canvas, and  uses ink to
                    subtract color from white
